How many times have you really fallen in love?

Your heart is beating as they say your name, whispering it into your ear. As they walk past you and don't notice your in there way, maybe it happened on one day of serendipity. You looked at them and realized you liked them...and then one day realized it wasn't like, but love that stirred in your heart on that day. When the thought of them dying and leaving you tears you up inside...how many people have you sincerely loved? I wont ask how many you "think" you can have, but please say this too.

When were the times and how sincere?
Comments much appreciated.

Obama the new face for Joker?

Seems like the House's new bill of giving out Cash for clunkers has reached its next (or is it first?) wall of opposers. In a daring attempt to paint President Barack Obama as the bad guy, an unnamed painter has posted four pictures of the President wearing make-up to that of the Joker from The Dark Knight, on Los Angeles property.

The picture and article can be found here

Underneath the President gone villain is the words "Socialism"

Its a sad day when people decide that a move to help out the recession is socialism, I think more people should rally for the guy trying to help us then work against him which in the end will do more harm than good. Don't you think?

Itunes Top "kids shows"

Sometimes I wish that people weren't so blind to the idiocy of disney shows. Take Hannah Montana, every little girl and child loves the show and their parents pay big bucks to get their girls to the concerts and buy her merchandise. Then you have the rest of the disney star club composed of the horrible actors and singers such as Miley Cyrus, and also the wanna-bes like the Jonas bros, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. Some hold a decent amount of talent, but most of them really shouldn't be held in high regard as the "best." I find it funny though how they have gained so much attention, the person i feel lile blasting at the moment is poor little Cyrus whose show is for the tweens of this world. Why is it so big? A question for another day. But today i decided to mention Itunes Top ten kids shows, the irony? Little miss Cyrus has her show on the list along with a host of kiddy shows which are...Sesame Street, Blues clues, Dora, Spongebob, Disneys little einsteins, Madeline, ICarly, Arthur and Phineas and ferb.

If I were Cyrus, I would not want my show grouped with those.

And when comic con comes to a close...

Sorry everybody looks like Comic Con is officially over, well at least the exhibit hall is over. Which means I get to clue you into a fact that when you read this and if you were at the con...you will trip balls. Remember the celebrity I couldn't tell you about? Lets see if I can remind you of what went on during the Alice and Wonderland panel on Thursday, any remember that Johnny Depp made a surprise guest appearance? Turns out he really was walking around Comic Con dressed as Jack Sparrow, a fact Tim Burton clued us all in but we thought, oh well its just today. Apparently it must not have, if i have to guess he was there all four days. Want to know how i have figured this out? Yesterday which was Saturday while i was off on a journey searching for playboy magazines and adults my friend Kayla tripped over Cap'n Jack Sparrow a.k.a Johnny Depp! The story goes as follows...she heard a young girl talking to him saying, "Can I have some run?" in an excited little girls voice, to which the Cap'n replied "Not for another two years." wagging his finger in concordance. (The mother didn't like that by the way) So she took a picture with the alcohol crazed Cap'n (he was walking in his awesome drunk way) and then towards the end he tapped her shoulder saying "Shh its a secret!" So if he asks everybody...I wasn't the one who told you!

I love how he loves his character enough to dress up as him and go to the con, don't you? Makes me love him even more. Please come next year Mr. Depp? And if he reads this...I want to meet you, your my biggest influence for acting! Not that I believe he will read this, but oh well.

UPDATE: in case your wondering she knew it was him because he wore no badge and was being followed by bodyguards and a cameraman. So yeah people it was him..There on Saturday!

Another UPDATE: for those of you who need further proof to the fact that Depp actually was there, Tim Burton mentioned the possibility of him being dressed as Jack Sparrow in an interview with MTV which can be found here he says, ""He's never been [to Comic-Con] ... and i don't know, he could've dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow and just been one of many," laughed the director."--from mtv. Also a picture was taken and will be posted once my friend uploads it.

Comic Con the day after

The much anticipated geek and nerd convention is almost to a close! Yet its not just for the comic book fans who wish to buy the latest Through the looking glass novel or a grim tales comic or even old comic books from the earliest years. Its also a convention for the movie buffs who want to catch a glimpse of a scene from twilight or Iron Man 2. I went to Comic Con yesterday the 25th. A saturday where at night when most of the center is asleep we party away at the Masquerade. It was a pretty amazing day, I walked through the Exhibit Hall which sadly this year wasn't the best, plus i missed a chance at getting a signing from the Superman/batman/public enemies people (not sure who they are) at the WB booth. And i never got the smallville bag i most wanted. The biggest high light was the Masquerade party, 43 contestants had they're own skit and dazzled the crowd with costumes from some of our favorite icons, among the list were the Joker several times, batman, poison ivy, Hulk, anime costumes, an amazing long skit from the Princess Bride and even a character from the Phantom of the Opera.

The night even had some fun laughs when a group of costumed people from around the world danced to "Its a small world" to which the crowd burst into laughter, enhancing when they danced to a Michael Jackson tribute of Thriller. I took a few photos (poor quality i must warn you) that I will put up later. I also have a few surprises that sadly i cannot share today since Comic Con has one more day, but I'll give you a hint...one of my friends saw a famous celebrity that we all know and love. But he asked her to keep it a secret so in honor of that I'll give you the details tomorrow.

The day also had some fun adventures when me and two of my friends went to Subway, a man behind us got jacked and was seen running toward the invisible thief yelling. Wonder who stole from him? And at a Comic Con convention were thousands of people had weapons and were dressed up as Superman and Batman? Yet it would have been even funnier if a costumed villain or superhero stole from the guy. We'll never know.

All in all a pretty fun day, I have a bunch of free stuff that i get to read and put up later, including a signed Marvel superhero poster, a few pins (one that has DC on it) and comics given to me from one of my friends. Only strange thing that happened was when I walked outside with a friend, a guy looks at me and asked if i was getting off of work...basically i got hit on. To which i replied "No" and then kind of ran away. :/

Thanks for reading!

Domestic Discord

In case any of you didn't know (which none of you know) I hail from California in a sweet county called Riverside in an amazing city, Temecula. Our neighbors include Murrieta...which is a city that i am somewhat talking about because of a metal band. Its called Domestic Discord and one of my best buddies just joined, so i'm doing him a favor and helping him advertise.

As I said they are a metal band, currently having four members--Spazo, Scyph, Alex (my friend who i fondly call webster) and Nathan. They are a new group writing out tracks, taking photos and all the other stuff that new bands do. I've listened to two of the songs on there profile, the sound is actually pretty good (mind you i'm picky) I'd be nice when they have lyrics but for now go and listen! I prefer Raining Blood cover since the music doesn't repeat too much...as does the other one.

Well here's the band's myspace page. Add them! and then comment here what you think and if you did add them. It'd be mucho appreciated.

Dinner, Comics, Mulligans and the Escape

So as previously mentioned I had a date last night, double date to be exact which ended up as a triple for dinner. It went alright, i didn't sit next to or across from the guy (did i mention i didn't like him and he knew it?) We went to a comic book store afterwards and i bought some batman comics which was pretty sweet and then high tailed our way to Mulligans. Now before i get to the next part let me tell you a secret--my friends who I love dearly Kayla and Christie told me they were coming to save me, my friend Brandon agreed to this. Little did they know i was basically going to ditch my date, didn't work out the best I went golfing, lost my ball then went on the race cars by myself. It was amazing but when i got off...guess who was there waiting? It was really awkward and I knew i had to escape, luckily for me Christie was giving me a ride home (i love her i really do) Throughout the night I kept dodging him, but he kept finding me. Ever seen those movies where there's the stalker and he's always in the next corner waiting for you? I felt like that girl. I was an almost total mess each time i slipped away and he found me again, but then around 9 when he found me getting an ICEE we saw the other two on our date, it wasn't that bad but i had a bad feeling that this wasn't going to end anytime soon. Luckily Kayla came to the rescue and Christie asked to take me home. I heard "Bowling Ball," on our drive. Love the song..."You need that boy like a bowling boy, dropped on your head, which means not at all." The song was from Superchick, and my friend turned around and asked how I was, a bit iffy was the reply and she reminded me of something that wasn't really far from my mind--he had a car and knew where I lived. I received a few messages on myspace from him last night but ignored them only to get another one this morning were he said he wanted a re-do and he didn't get his chance to kiss me romantically at the door (i really was dreading that one) So it ended up working out well, i told him i didn't want a re-do nor did i like him. Maybe it was handled badly, but hey a girls got to di what a girl has to do. So any of you have any strange weird or bad dating experiences?

12:46 Coffee and Iron Man, 1984?

Sipping coffee from home, fat free creamer just a bit to call this drink coffee. Watching the famed Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr. i remember the first time i saw this movie, it was in June of last year and I saw it with two of my good friends at the time, well one ended up going south, and the other...working on that one. I'm supposed to work today, but me and work never did well in bed. 1984 is the book i should be reading, I've finished around 100 pages so far, i like it. A world in which "big brother" knows your every move and thinking isn't free but can get you in trouble.

Saw a good movie yesterday, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It's too bad it didn't do well because a second movie would have been really awesome, maybe one day another movie will be made. Who knows maybe I could be apart of it, I wouldn't mind that. I could be the director, writer or play in the movie. I could be Mina. Vampire anyone? So I was looking up the movie, and found out its actually based off of a comic by Alan Moore. Then i found out that DC comics, well the DC stands for Detective comics, anybody remember batman?

Well I'm going to finish up this movie, check myspace and then read to my hearts content.

Dick Magnet

There's one thing half the population of woman want and the other who want it rid of, and thats being a "dick magnet." Since my early years up till Sophomore year I was always the flat chested geeky girl who wasn't that pretty, and who guys were never attracted to. It hurt, even now I've never had a boyfriend and I'm 17, and my first kiss was just shy of a year ago. I had always wanted to be the beautiful girl who attracted boys like honey to a bee. Careful what you wish for!

In the past few months i seem to have gotten my wish, i've had many guys interested in me and have aptly flirted with most. But after awhile and the list of how many guys you can catch gets long you start wishing it would just stop. For me the attention is nice...but now I'm starting to wonder how to deal with my flirtatious behavior. Should i still keep the date when the guy i wouldn't make my boyfriend tells me he's in love with me? Seems to be my problem now, I recently started talking with a guy who over the past three weeks has decided he is in love with me, wanting to give me roses, and offering to pick me up from San Diego's Comic con convention...are just a few of the things i have to deal with. Its sweet, but when he tells me he wont let me live town i go a bit speechless. What's even worse? I just met an amazing guy who i can see myself dating, yet i need to get rid of the love sick pup and tell him I'm done.

People deal with this all the time I'm sure, so how do girls do it? Be a bitch and break it off quickly without emotion? Guys have never been the smartest at hints, even if you say you just had lustful feelings. Any advice? I'll let you know how it comes out.

Reading 1984: Destruction of words

Reading 1984: Destruction of words

As a writer I know the value of a word, it can speak multitudes, have complex meanings and substitute the use of ten words. Even two words can mean almost exactly the same thing, yet the feeling, emotion of the word is different. I love writing poems and stories and of course blogs such as this, and in it I use a vast amount of vocabulary (mostly in stories and poems, mind you) So to me the value of a word is immense, you might wonder why i am writing on a subject supposedly so insignificant as a word.

So why am I writing about words? Well currently i am reading 1984, which is a novel by George Orwell about the future in which the government--Big brother controls everything. People cannot think, write or oppose the "party" or ingsoc as which it is called. I'm not very far, but in the part now the main character Winston is talking to his some-what friend Syme. His friend Syme is writing a language called Newspeak which is on its Eleventh edition, and Syme is describing how he is obliterating words! Instead of having many words that say "good" such as "excellent" or "splendid", good will be the only phrase used, not only that, but instead of bad you would say "ungood."

While reading this my heart drums against my chest, what if the world I lived in today where like that? How could I not think for my own, yet use a language that is couched in absurdity? I am beginning to enjoy this book, which i might add is for AP 12 next year (summer assignment) my mind seems to be expanding with intellect and vomiting insight onto the books themes and ideas.

Can't wait to read more, and you can expect me to write more.

Reason vs. Passion

"The law is reason, free from passion." --Aristotle
What is reason vs passion? Isn't passion what we use when context with reason? No, passion applies to what is in our heart, for instance love. We may love someone hence the "passion," enough not to have reason that they would be bad for us. Reason is knowing what is best for you, a person or a country. In concordance with the law, passion is letting your religious views influence your decisions in court or the law, passion is what drives the religious zealots to ban Proposition 8. But reason drives democrats and those opposed to prop 8 to say that the gay community should have equal rights as their families, friends and associates. Which includes marriage. As soon to be Supreme Court Justice Sotamayor says, “it’s not the heart that compels conclusions in cases. It’s the law.”

*Just a small tidbit about what is going on in my head. Debate? i know you want to. Its a bit choppy, so i might refine it later.

Thinking about...

I'm thinking about revamping my blog, its a bit outdated and nobody comes on. Plus i hate my old posts, except my poem about jealousy.

So i should start now by saying random shit about life and what's going on in my head, cause you all want to hear about it right?

Well...currently i am in Long Beach to work for my dad, although at this precise moment I'm doing nothing but sitting on my ass. I'm earning bucks to get the Iphone, which i technically already have the money for, so when my dad decides to come back to the trailer, i'm going to ask him to buy it for me, because i called Best-Buy and they had it. Woot! Not only that, but the store is located right where my ass is seated. Pretty neat eh?

So thats a little bit about me, might write later..hmm sounds fun!

The Obama's: A symbol for hope in family values and marriage

In the era we live in, we are seeing a steady decline in family and marital values, its all around us, from celebrities such as Brad Pitt who have been married numerous times, to books and television depicting a family broken by divorce. We see it in our neighborhoods, friends who have all been victims of divorce, living with mom or dad at one point in time, and transitioning between the two. Family doesn't seem to be holding strong, as teenagers we want to stray away from family and live a life with friends and peers. But what's more saddening is that today in our world most of my generation does not believe in love. After seeing our parents, and knowing of the increase in divorce we no longer feel the need to want to get married and have kids of our own.

Does love still exist? In a country where politicians such as John Edward cheat on their bedridden wives, and celebrities abuse each other it doesn't seem possible. But there's one family in the midst of this era who are rising above the challenges of life and setting an example for a family that can have both stability and a husband and wife who still love each other dearly. The first family, composed of Mr. and Mrs. Obama and their two children plus little dog have showed the United States that it is possible to save family values. In a recent article from The New York Times 1 titled "If They Can Find Time for Date Night ..." Obama finds time for his wife for a night on the town including dinner and a broadway show, how sweet is that? The article is complied mostly of different people who are awe struck, jealous and mystified at this act of love.

It doesn't seem possible, our Commander in Chief who has to deal with a daily schedule of conflicts and plane rides all over the world giving speeches such as the one in France (in honor of D-Day), that he would have time each day for "Michelle time." But when we do see it, we are given hope that maybe one day Obama and his family's example will strike a chord in the lives of everyday Americans who will strive to make their marriages better.

A Poem of Jealousy

Jealousy

Jealousy is an interesting thing
Its bites you when you least expect it
Inflames your soul
Can turn a friend into a foe
Twists the truth
For own selfish gain
It’s the green monster
Inside
Preying on our hearts and mind

Thoughts for the day

Today's just a day, in another week. Week after week, school after school, break here and there. Same ole same ole. I want something new to happen, something to come in and turn my world upside down...in good ways. Or ways that are fun and adventurous. I can spend all my time wishing, waiting or writing. The three W's of something more than reality.

This year hasn't been my year, which is sad really since it just begun. But it's been confusing, disappointing and boring. Only a few things have been good, but not really..I liked disneyland.
And next year will be a roller coaster ride, I'll be 18 and on the brink of leaving my house and family and adventuring off into a world I don't quite understand, a world where it's everyone for themselves. A world where money reigns and kindness is in short coming.

I know of the real world, and i know how difficult it will be. There's no sugar coating, no stepping back, no advance to go and collect $2000 dollars. Could I handle it? And now in the economy, the entire world a recession grows...the effects expanding every day. When will it end? Will the world be faced with another American great depression? Or will our new President Barack Obama help bounce us back, before the days get worse.

-Kat
